Furnace repair and installation
Furnaces here run a few weeks a year, which means a problem can sit undiscovered for months. Every heating visit we do includes the safety items first: heat exchanger condition, venting, combustion, and the safeties that are supposed to shut the thing down if any of that goes wrong.

80% or 95%: the honest answer
In a climate with this few heating hours, the fuel savings on a 95% condensing furnace take a long time to pay back the extra cost and the extra venting and drainage it requires. For many coastal homes an 80% unit, or a heat pump with auxiliary heat, is the better buy. We will run your numbers rather than defaulting to the more expensive box.

“Our AC stopped working around noon, and with temperatures already over 90 degrees, we knew we needed help fast… They had Chris at our home within an hour of our call… we signed up for their twice-yearly maintenance plan before Chris left.”
“Very transparent. Explained all my required repairs and provided a per repair breakdown for full consideration… Don't get ripped off, call these guys first.”
“After returning home from a trip, I walked into a hot house and realized my AC wasn't working. Even with everything he had going on, he took the time on a weekend to walk me through the troubleshooting process.”
Questions about furnaces
How long should a furnace last here?
Because they run so few hours, furnaces on the coast often outlive the air conditioning side by years. Condition and safety decide replacement, not age alone.
My furnace smells on the first run of the season. Is that bad?
Usually it is dust burning off the heat exchanger and it clears in a few minutes. If it persists, smells sharp or metallic, or comes with soot, shut it down and call us.
